BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy
Luke graduated from Staffordshire University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sports Therapy (BSc). During his time at university, he had the opportunity to work in the student-led injury clinic and was given the responsibility of managing and treating the university’s Sports Scholars.
Upon finishing university, Luke was offered the role as an academy sports therapist at Burton Albion FC. He was located at both the Pirelli Stadium and at St. George’s Park (the new home of the England National Team). His roles and responsibilities included pitch-side medical cover for games and tournaments, as well as, injury prevention and treatment, and sports taping. Whilst still at Burton Albion FC, Luke completed a very intense medical course (Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football) which makes him competent in managing major limb injuries and advanced lifesaving skills, including airway management.
In 2021 Luke was offered a sports therapy position within Coventry City FC academy. He assists the players with injury management and provides pitch side first aid cover during games.
Luke is a keen footballer and gym goer. He has played within the academy system growing up for Coventry City, Burton Albion, and Stoke City, so understands how important sporting activity can be, even from a young age. He has also been involved in Cricket, Athletics and Futsal, because he believes sporting activity is beneficial both physically and mentally. However, he understands the negative impact that injuries can have on individuals and that is why he is here to help every client that he sees, become a stronger version of themselves.
Luke is registered with The Society of Sports Therapists (MSST) (SST22650)
